Match report for CoP Boys at U16 Regional Finals

City of Peterborough Under 16 Boys travelled to Repton School, home of hosts Belper HC for the Midlands Regional Finals on Sunday 4th March. Under 16 Boys have tough weekend away at National Indoor Finals

The boys’ efforts pretty much went unrewarded, as they came up against tough opposition in the National Indoor Finals, held at the Aldersley Leisure Centre, Wolverhampton.  They were in a really difficult group, including last years under 16 outdoor champions Beeston, National School champions Ashmoor (South Dartmoor College) and class act Havant, who were coached by England Hockey Head of Performance, David Faulkner.  Both finalists eventually came from their group, with Havant beating Ashmoor in Read more…

U18 suffer heartbreak at Whitgift

City of Peterborough 1 – Havant 4 (Marcus Howard) Despite Havant having 4 England players in their squad City lads competed extremely well. It was however two early goals in each half gave Havant a 4 nil lead, before Marcus Howard scored a consolation short corner. CoP Face the busiest Saturday of the season

Once again CoP will demonstrate the depth of its playing squads this weekend as 8 of its mens sides have East League fixtures, whilst 20 of their most talented juniors who would usually be playing in these sides (apart from the Veterans!) are away on indoor duty. Review of the Season (so far)

The Only Way is (through) Essex!

CoP Men reach last 16 of the EH Cup without lifting a stick

Scheduled to play on Sunday with no EH league game this weekend due to Futures Cup games, CoP were looking forward to meeting Lewes in the “round of 32”. Lewes were surprise conquerors of CoP’s EH East Conference rivals, Indian Gymkhana in the last round, whilst CoP thrashed the only team to beat them in East Prem A last season, Bedford.
