Thank you for your support over the past year and to update you on the success of our Teams as we enter the start of the new hockey season.
Your kind donation has been well invested in a combination of ways to include, our youth development scheme, sports coaching, and improvements to our facilities; our Cricket wicket has been improved, we have a new roof on our Squash courts, and improved changing room facilities.
We had a very successful 2011-12 Hockey season, our teams have had a record Season throughout all levels.
The Men’s 1st team have maintained their National League status (the highest level in Hockey), and are very strong going into this season with a large volume of youth within the team who will continue to improve.
The Men’s 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th X1 have all achieved promotion in their respective leagues. The 2nd X1 will be playing in the Premier A league which is the highest level a 2nd X1 is able to play. The 3rd X1 are now the first 3rd X1 side from any Club to ever compete in the Premier B league.
The Ladies section had a less successful 2011-12 Season but we will work hard to fight back this Season.
However, we have a great future, the 4th X1 which is predominantly a youth team won their League and were unbeaten all Season, the only Team in the whole Club last Season to boast this which secured them “Team of the Year” at our “End of Season Awards Dinner”.
The Cricket section have had a very successful 2012 season. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams have all won their respective leagues. Dan Soar is the Squash County Champion.
None of the above would be possible without your continued support for which we all thank you very much. We have great future plans and we hope you will be able to join us on our journey of success.
