City youngsters help Cambs take East title

Five members of City of Peterborough helped Cambridgeshire Under 13s complete an unbeaten season and clinch the East Region title.

Euan Gilmour, Oscar Sadikot, Archie Spears, Nick Reddy and Brendon Andrews helped them come out on top at Bedford.

After a 0-0 draw with Essex, Cambs raised their play with five successive victories.

A 2-0 win over Suffolk was followed by an impressive 4-0 success against Norfolk and Bedfordshire were next to be seen off with a resounding 5-1 win. A 3-0 victory over Lincolnshire left them needing to beat Hertfordshire to secure the title and they did so in style with a 4-0 success.

Gilmour scored the second, his ninth goal of the festival, in the final while Spears (3) and Sadikot had also found the target during the tournament.
