COP Men's 1st XI

City of Peterborough Mens 1st XI will contest the 2011/12 season in the EHL East Conference. Having stormed East Premier 'A' title last season, the 1sts must once again raise their game if they are to compete in what is by some margin the toughest of the three national 'Conferences'.

Objectives this year are to continue to improve using the style of play initiated by coach Gareth Andrew, and to establish the team as genuine competitiors at this level. It is our ambition to firstly consolidate our position, and then push for the title, perhaps allowing CoP to reach the pinnacle of club hockey in England, the EHL Premier Division!

However, first things first, and this season promises to be one of the most exciting in the club's history as we build for continued, and future, success.

Members of the 1st XI squad are expected to train twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, in addition to keeping themselves fit for the energetic style of play that has been adopted.
