Friday 28th March 2025 7.30pm v COPHC M4s Lost 2-8
A Friday night game due to the number of home fixtures at the Gate this weekend.
We started with a 4-4-2 line up and for the first 5 minutes passed the ball about well.
An error or judgement in the 25 yard box gave away the first short corner and a great
drag flick from Hillsden and the M4s went 1-0 up.
M5s fought valliantly and had many attacks but after conceding a 2nd short corner the M4s
scored again with another drag flick. another goal was conceded near half time and we went
in at half time 0-3 down.
M5s came out in the 2nd half fighting and after some pressure get a short corner and
Chris Hastings scored our first goal. 1-3.
Despite a valiant effort we kept giving away short corners and M4s kept converting them
to goals. The score was 5-1 and we won a short corner after pressure from the forwards,
Shane Carlton converted to make the score 5-2. Jos Walker made his first appearance for
the M5s, a very promising performance and he got the better of his da a few times as well.
Constant pressure from the M4s and we conceeded 3 more goals to make a final score
of 2-8. A sad end to a season where we finished 8th and the M4s finished 3rd.
Bradley Smith made some great save and stopped the score being far higher.
Well done team for a great season. We won some and lost some and had some fun along
the way. Man of the match this week was Mark Fowler, well done.
Mark also cooked a fine chilli with Jacket Poatoes for tea and Frank took away the shirts
for their final wash of the season.
