Report: CoP Men’s 5th XI vs Spalding 2s – March 15, 2025
Starting with a diamond midfield we came under pressure from Spalding and from out own bad passing.
Conceding many short corners Spalding took advantage and too a 3-0 lead in the first half.
Some great saves by Sam mastin kept the shore down to 3.
A stern talking to at half time and a change in teh formation to a flat middle made all teh difference.
We started making better passes and passing to our own team, some great work by James Bell earned him Man of the match,
but there were notable votes for Nathan Howard and Adam Cliffe who both played good games.
A bad pass from Frank, to Fowler caused Mark to crash into a Spalding player from behind and got him a green card.
We started the second half well, keeping possession and pressing Spalding and eventually got a Short corner that Pete Hings scored from.
We kept up the pressure and Phil Martin bagged another goal and Buckley with some good moved got the final one
to make the score 3-3.
2 games left and we have 21 points, a good position and should be safe from relegation.
