Report: CoP Men’s 5th XI vs Cambridge Nomads 2s – March 08, 2025

Mar 8th 2025 v Cambs Nomads 2s – red – lost 3-6
We started out with the regular team talk of win the ball, keep possession and pass away from danger to a team member.
This worked for 20 minutes with Buckley getting 1 and then Adam Cliffe scoring his season first, well done Adam.
From there is went down hill.
We stopped playing our game and came under pressure, Nomads got a Short Corner and scored, boosted confidence they pressed us more,
Winning a 2nd short corner they scored again and equalised. And teh score was 2-2 at half time.
Nomads came out fighting and with renewed confidence they pressured us and won many short corners.
They scored 2 more goals from short corners taking the score to 4-2. 
A great aerial from a 16 hit, by Shane to Buckley lead to boro’s 3rd goal.
Boro continued to feel the pressure but made more mistakes and Nomads scored an open play goal.
They finished off with a final short corner that took the score to 6-3
Beaten and dejected we headed to the changing room to lick our wounds and analyse what went so badly wrong.
