The season may have just ended but minds are already focused on next, so we are pleased to announce on behalf of Mike Yeoman, our Director of Hockey, the following coaching appointments for the season of 2019/20:

These coaches will work under the guidance of Mike to support and continue his vision for securing a sustainable future for top level hockey at City of Peterborough HC through developing and retaining local playing and coaching talent.

Nathan Foad

Ladies 1sts Team Coach – Nathan Foad.

Nathan shadowed Mike with the L1s this season and has been rewarded for his hard work and dedication.

He brings a wealth of both playing and coaching experience for someone so young. He’s played in 13 junior national finals and coached at 3 of them. He currently plays for the Men’s 1st team and in the last 2 seasons, gained promotion to the National East Conference and then promoted to the new National League Division 1 this season. As if this wasn’t enough proof, this year he coached the Ladies 2nd team to promotion.

Nathan has been Head Junior Coach for the past 3 seasons and seen great development throughout the club and progression into the Ladies and Men’s 1s teams.

Joe Finding

Ladies 2nd Team Coach – Joe Finding

Joe brings a wealth of experience having played top class hockey from a very young age and continues to do so in the Mens 1sts.  Joe has played National League for Hampstead & Westminster (Premier), City of Peterborough (North, South & East Divisions) and Fareham (West Conference).

His Representative Honours include Cambridgeshire & Lincolnshire County all ages groups, East Regional all age groups, England U18’s and England Mixed seniors.  His move into coaching will be a huge asset to CoPHC.

Adam Drake

Adam first started playing hockey at Peterborough Town HC as a junior at the age of 11 progressing through the men’s teams and making his National League 1st XI debut as a 15 year old in 1988.

He subsequently served the 1st XI as a player for 30 years including a 4-year period as Player/Manager achieving back to back promotions and regaining National League status. During this time, he also played for Southgate HC (1989 – 1993) and Blueharts HC (1997 – 1999).

Adam has represented the East of England at all Junior and Senior age groups with over 100 senior caps for Cambridgeshire.  Representation for England has included U21, O40’s & O45’s (gaining selection for 8 consecutive years as part of the England Masters programme from 2012 – 2019). Achievements with England Masters hockey includes World Cup and European gold medals.
