HockeyFest Success

Published by on

The beautiful weather and lure of some great hockey brought people in force to the Dalrod Sports Ground for the first HockeyFest held by City Of Peterbrough Hockey Club.

The first game saw the Mens 3’s victorious against the Mens 4’s with the final score being 7-2.  Due to opposition cancelling, the next game was rearranged to become a battle between the Ladies 1’s and Mens 2’s with the men winning 15-2.

The main game of the day was a pre season friendly for the Mens 1’s against West Bridgeford 1’s.  Some promising hockey from our men resulted in a very convincing 9-1 win with returning striker Adam Wilson getting a hat-trick and then goals from Henry Ricketts, captain Ross Booth, Brendan Andrews, Joe Finding, Manny Patel and Ben Newman.

A great show of ‘Back To Hockey’ ladies meant that there was enough to be able to have a combined six aside round robin followed by rounders.  The day was finished off nicely with a combined mens team game.

Many thanks go to the umpires and helpers on the day making the first of hopefully many HockeyFest a great success.
