Futures Cup 2016 : Oct 27 – 30th
Luke Barkworth and Eddie Harper have been selected to represent the Saxon Tigers U16 at the prestigious Futures Cup U16 and U18 event, being held this year at St Albans HC, from 27th – 30th October.
The competition will see them play against the Pennine Pumas, Mercian Lynx and the Wessex Leopards in the battle for the top Regional side, but more importantly, it is the primary selection competition for the National Age Group Squads (NAGS) for 2016/17. The club has high hopes that both boys will feature in this year’s U16 squad if all goes well this weekend.
Since the inception of England Hockey’s Single System around 8 years ago, CoPHC has had regular representation at Futures Cup and its sister event, HiPac (High Performance Camp) which is run for the U15 and U17 age groups, and all those players have gone on to represent the club at 1st XI level.
