Boys U18 aiming for 2nd time lucky

So it’s another exciting Semi Final weekend this weekend – as the U18 boys journey oop north to Ben Rhydding. This year’s squad have all the hallmarks of what makes a great team – some excellent individual players, but a team work ethic which means that they play as a unit and don’t rely on any single person – the old adage that the sum of the total is greater than the individual parts. They also have some impressive experience under their belt, with the Indoor finals in January, and 2 of the squad also having played against Beeston last month in the Senior Cup. Ably skippered by inspirational captain Sam Anderson in his last season as an U18, they are confident of coming back with the prize of a trip to Lea Valley under their belts. My view – it will take a very special team to beat them if they play their best hockey.
So good luck tomorrow for the game – they are travelling up today – and above all, enjoy the occasion. These hockey weekends away for juniors are what your memories are built on and your travelling family of supporters are very proud of what you have achieved so far.
The squad is
Cameron Goodey Sam Anderson Oscar Sadikot Henry Skrobot Arthur Frankln Nicky Reddy Manny Patel Brendan Andrews Alec Bryden Dan Wadsworth Peter Taylor Arminder Mann Ieuan Williams Kunal Patel Nat Taylor.
And of course special thanks to the coaching team led by Hillsdon Hills Paul with Nathan Foad supporting and Munir Sadikot in charge of the water bottles, boys, kit, face masks, hotel and pretty much everything else off pitch!
