Oscar is off to National Age Group Assessment
City player Oscar Sadikot is off this weekend to the final assessment stage of the National Age Group for England Under 16s.
Based on their performances at the Futures Cup competition (the top level of junior regional hockey in England Hockey’s single system), a group of up to 30 players have been invited to a weekend long assessment camp at Bisham Abbey.
The 30 will be whittled down to a final National Age Group squad through fitness, skills and gameplay assessment. If selected, Oscar will be part of the England team for 2014 and have a series of training camps and international fixtures home and away.
Oscar started at Club Sunday morning Mini-Hockey at a very early age, coming along with his older brother Raf. Since then he has progressed through the club and county coaching system and pushed himself and is the first club player to make it to this stage since England Hockey implemented this single development system some time ago.
The club are very proud of this ”home grown” player, and everyone wishes him the best.
