EHL Hockey back at the Gate for 2011

2-0 was enough to see off Havering and put the title out of reach of Bedford HC. The game was far from a classic  with both teams missing key players, but ultimately CoP were able to find the net leaving Havering to rue some appalling finishing in the D.

Captain Gareth Andrew came on for a couple of cameo appearances, to save further damage to his injured ankle, and ended up collecting 2 more goals to add to his tally for the season. The first was a low drag flick from a short corner which collected a Havering knee en-route into the net in the first half, and the second was a deft touch to tuck a gentle cross in from Ric Corbett behind the keeper’s kickers.

The result means that the team can relax and enjoy their final 2 games, although they will be seeking revenge on Bedford next week as they are the only team who have defeated CoP this season.
