Last season, the Men's 3rds were the highest placed 3rd team in the East League, competing in Division 1. It was always going to be challenging to remain at this level, and in the words of skipper Aggi Milner, 'We failed!'... by getting promoted to Premier B; the first time a 3rd team has reached this division and the highest level at which they can compete (under East rules).
Made up of a potent mix of experienced players and promising young talent, the 3rds are looking forward to another successful campaign as England veteran Shayne Andrews takes over the captaincy for the 2012/13 season.
Obviously, players at this level are expected to be highly skilled, and only those with either the experience of National League, or the ability to reach that level before much longer, will be able to sustain the level of performance that will be required to compete against some of the best 1st teams in the East.
Regular and intense training is expected for most of the players looking to retain a 3rd team place, especially for those wanting to move even higher.
